Hairspray (musical) - Hairspray is a Tony-winning musical, based on the 1988 movie Hairspray. The story is of a girl named Tracy Turnblad whose dream is to dance on the Corny Collins Show, a local TV dance program based on the real-life Buddy Dean Show in Baltimore, Maryland, USA.
Marissa Jaret Winokur - Marissa Jaret Winokur, born February 2, 1973 in New York, is a American actress best known for her performance as Tracy Turnblad in the highly successful Broadway musical, Hairspray. She won Broadway's 2003 Tony Award for Best Actress (musical) for her performance in Hairspray, as well as the Drama Desk, Theatre World and Outer Critics Circle awards.
